Babel, Brimstone & The Pride Flag

As many of you know, we just came out of what has widely been celebrated by the world as “pride month.” As we were ending off the month of June, I had a quick vision and felt led to share this here.

As followers of Christ, I don’t think many of us have realized just how far perversion has woven its way into the moral fibers of our society and nations. We have let this creep in for decades and have now arrived at the state we see our cities and nations in. And for that we must repent.

We need to repent because we did nothing to intercede. We did nothing to arrest and kick out the spirit of perversion in our own churches and lives first; and we did nothing when we remained silent on matters concerning sexual abuse, incest, and sodomy.

To be honest, I was not at all interested in writing this blog post because this issue takes so much to unpack. But for the sole purpose of sharing the vision, I will be centering what I feel led to share strictly based on that. So I will keep this post short.

Vision

In my vision I saw what I initially thought was a rainbow, stretching from the bottom of the ground right to the top of the sky — which we would call first heaven. As I was seeing this, I realized that what I was seeing was actually a raised tower. At the foot of this tower were crowds of people gathered around it. I am not quite sure what they were doing but it looked very active. And at the top of this tower, dark clouds had formed. That’s basically the vision.

The entire vision had an ominous feeling to it and once it ended, I immediately understood what the Lord was showing me. This was not the rainbow (which is the pure symbol of the covenant of God) but the “pride” colors representing the LGBTQ community.

Now, when any particular sin is committed over and over again, an evil altar is erected. What the Lord was revealing is that the level of this kind of perversion in regions, cities, and nations has erected altars that have now reached the heavens as in the day of Babel. Do you know the story?

Genesis 11

Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. 3 Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. 4 And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”

5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. 6 And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. 7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. 9 Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.

Now let’s backtrack just a bit.

In Genesis 9, God confirms the sign of His covenant, the rainbow, with Noah and the earth after He had just destroyed all flesh on the earth with a flood, save Noah and his family who were on the ark. Then this happened after they started re-establishing their roots as a family…

12 And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13 I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; 15 and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

18 Now the sons of Noah who went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham was the father of Canaan. 19 These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated.

20 And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard. 21 Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.

24 So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him. 25 Then he said:

“Cursed be Canaan;
A servant of servants
He shall be to his brethren.”

It says that Noah knew what his son, Ham, had done to him. It does not say this explicitly, but could it be that Ham had violated his father sexually? He certainly did not think anything of looking upon his father’s nakedness, so perhaps this could be the reason Noah went to the extreme of cursing his seed.

What was even more interesting to me, in the following chapter, was Ham’s genealogy. One of the regions possessed by Nimrod, a descendant of Ham, was…

...Babel.

Genesis 10

6 The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. 7 The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtechah; and the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.

8 Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.” 10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. 11 From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah, 12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (that is the principal city). 13 Mizraim begot Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim, 14 Pathrusim, and Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines and Caphtorim).

15 Canaan begot Sidon his firstborn, and Heth; 16 the Jebusite, the Amorite, and the Girgashite; 17 the Hivite, the Arkite, and the Sinite; 18 the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite. Afterward the families of the Canaanites were dispersed.

19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon as you go toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; then as you go toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha. 20 These were the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their languages, in their lands and in their nations.

The Outcry of the Altar

Among the lands inhabited by Ham’s descendants was also the infamous Sodom and Gomorrah. And what we then see, hereafter, is the iniquity of Ham on the lands where his descendants dwelled.

In Genesis 18:20-21 the Lord revealed to His servant, Abraham, that “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know.”

Then in the following chapter, two angels were sent to bring Lot and his family out of the city before destruction was about to hit. The men - young and old - of the city, surrounded Lot’s home and violently demanded to have sex with the two angels they thought were normal men. This confirmed the level of wickedness that had ascended to the heavens and reached its full measure for judgment to be poured out as in Genesis 15:16). For this God rained down fire and brimstone to completely wipe out the existence of the land and its abominations.

So what does this have to do with us and our nations today?

First, let me add in here that the root of the issue on homosexuality and gender confusion is the agenda of Satan to pervert everything God has created. Did you notice the progression of events when Ham committed the sin against his father? God set a sign of His covenant in place just after the flood – His rainbow. What did Satan do? He stole and perverted it to reflect his pride through the LGBTQ flag. And what happened directly after the Lord spoke to Noah about the sign of His covenant? Yes, that’s right. Ham opened up to the sin of sexual perversion – or at least the lust for it.

Many Christians are still so veiled by the enemy that they attack others speaking out against this abomination as “judgmental” or “unloving” justifying their reasoning by opinions that Christians are called to be examples of Christ by accepting everyone as they are (without sharing truth), when God Himself judges this kind of lifestyle. Please, if you are doing this you need to stop and repent because you are actually saying that you approve of Satan’s agenda to pervert God’s order of things.

There is a period of time the Lord appoints for any person or region to come to repentance; when that time is over and that sin has reached its “full measure” without any repentance, God’s judgment follows.

Across the globe, we have embraced homosexuality, gender confusion, and all manner of perversion. It has pervaded our homes, schools, churches, government, and other environments and we have even legalized what God has called abominable behavior. Many ministers are even preaching that we are not to address this behavior in others and say God accepts it as long as the LGBTQ community are Christians.

In doing so, this sin has now established evil altars in regions, and what God is revealing is that the stench of this sin has now reached heaven. It has reached a measure of fullness.

What do you think follows next?

As you read this, I humbly say that as individuals we need to cry out for mercy for ourselves and our families for being passive in allowing these altars to be erected (even if you don’t condone it). Consecrate yourself unto the Lord by repenting for this evil that was allowed in your nation. Let’s follow the example of Daniel who repented on behalf of his nation and included himself in their sins. Because when God’s righteous judgment comes, it will come to judge the regions, cities and nations we are in.
